When meals arrive
Meals are delivered around the middle of the day. Call the kitchen and they will tell you which days they run in your area, and which holidays they do not.
How to start
Call the kitchen and ask to be added to the route. They will take it from there.
What it costs
We ask for a contribution of $5.00 a meal, and we hope that those who are able will give more, because every dollar above that puts another meal on another table.
Giving is voluntary and confidential, and no one 60 or better is ever turned away based on their ability to pay.
Who can come
If you are wondering whether this is meant for you, it probably is.
- Anyone 60 years of age or better.
- A spouse of any age, even if they are not yet 60.
- There is no income test of any kind.
- There is no application and no paperwork.
Two ways to get a meal
Whichever suits you, it is the same meal and the same welcome.
Delivered to your door
A hot meal brought to the house, cooked that day at Five Counties Nursing Home. Call and ask to be put on the route.
Frozen meal packs
Seven frozen meals with bread, milk and juice, ready to heat at home. Useful for weekends, for a stretch of bad weather, or for anyone a long way from town. Call the kitchen or the West River office to ask about them.
Three ways to keep this table set
Lemmon is new to 60’s Plus Dining, and a new route runs on the people who look out for their neighbors.
Tell a neighbor
If you know someone who is eating alone or having a hard time cooking, one phone call can get a hot meal to their door.
Buy a neighbor's meal
Every gift goes straight to meals for seniors in and around Lemmon and across our western counties.
Lend a hand
Drivers are what make home delivery work. An hour a week, a short route, and someone gets a hot meal and a friendly face.
What is on the menu
Every meal has meat, a whole grain, vegetables and fruit, and milk. The menu changes every month, and it is posted here before the month begins.
